The Villanova Equity Society is a student club at the Villanova School of Business organized under the auspices of the Institute for Research in Advanced Financial Technology (IRAFT). The Equity Society manages two domestic, long-only equity portfolios that seek to earn risk adjusted excess returns above benchmark indexes. The Whipkey Large-Cap Fund and the Haley Group Mid-Cap Fund both use top down fundamental analysis, social responsibility screening, and technical indicators to select securities for inclusion in the fund.
A priority of the Equity Society is to prepare its students for successful careers in finance and investment related fields. Leadership bears the responsibility of promoting the professional development of junior members by sponsoring learning seminars, facilitating networking opportunities, and providing mentorship programs.
